It has certainly made me rethink the responses of both Germany and the UK.

A couple of noteworthy figures in there.  Germany's population is set to decline by 11 million over the next 50 years and although the UK's population will increase by about the same amount, our dependency ration is still going up to 43%.  That is fairly frightening.

Yes, he is essentially correct.

In the longer term Germany will benefit from these new arrivals. The UK would find it much more difficult to do so. best to avoid emotional reactions and look at practical ways of resolving issues. They can't can't all go and sleep on Bob Geldorf's couch.
