Whilst always taking any 'official' statement coming from the US with a degree of scepticism, should this be proven to be true, does it make any difference to people's attitudes to view on Britain's involvement in the campaign against IS?

What can we do? Bombing is counterproductive and we have no stomach for putting boots on the ground, which in my view would be totally stupid. Why should we do anything? What about the rich Gulf states?; it's their backyard!!!
Anyway, as you imply, the US are so duplicitous in all this the last thing we need is to be part of an Ally force with them.
