Title: Pakistan v England Tests
Post by: Hope on October 16, 2015, 01:49:54 PM
Apparently, Alastair Cook has batted longer than the combined total match time of England at the rugby and football world cups!

Same applies to Wales.

Cook batted so long, that I've trimmed my beard twice since he started.

Radio 4 first day of the test, the reporter said he counted 59 spectators?

Why is it being played in Abu Dhabi?

Why is it being played in Abu Dhabi?
Because Pakistan is considered to be too dangerous.

Ahhh right. I remember now, was there some shots fired at the team bus a few years back?

Perhaps they could have played in a country where people might have actually gone to watch it.

Just been listening to the morning session of the England/South Africa game.

Just awesome batting from Stokes. Have we finally found our new Ian Botham?

He needs to do it a few more times, well, not exactly that but certainly play a few more crucial and spectacular innings. Plus he needs to take crucial wickets.

He's done the latter several times - as well as making some stunning catches.

Yes I think that's right. He certainly has the talent with both bat and ball - he needs to deliver regularly with both.

The first thing being to get his bowling average to be lower than his batting average, which is the hall-mark of a good all rounder. Currently it isn't.

He also needs to keep out of health-related problems!!

We often get more than one single hundred in a Test match.  I wonder when the last time we had 2 double hundreds scored in the same match?

With the growing number of tidy English swing bowlers, could we be seeing the end of Jimmy Anderson's international career?
