I've just picked up my first contact lenses... never worn them before! I like not looking at the world through a frame but its definitely going to take some getting used to. I can feel them in there. Its not uncomfortable exactly, just weird.

I used contacts for a while but then gave them up after about a year. The lens in my right eye kept on going out of place so I ended up with blurred vision and so I lost patience with them. They suit some people better. Hopefully they will for you. yes, they feel odd at first but you get used to it so that you don't even notice they're there.

The very idea of contact lenses makes my eyes water, I could never cope with them. My eyes are very sensitive having had two botched eye operations as a kid, by a 'surgeon', whom we discovered many years later after his death, was only trained as an optician and didn't have the surgical qualifications he claimed! >:(

Haven't investigated them lately, but when I did the fiorst few times, the cost of them would have been prohibitive - I am not only short-sighted, I have a serious astigmatism in one eye which was going to inflate the price dramatically.

I have been wearing distance specs since I was 30, I am so used to seeing myself in them I would find it strange to be without them. I require reading specs too. I have several pairs of specs as I like to change them over frequently, it would be boring to wear the same pair all the time. I recently had my eye test, and fortunately didn't require any changes to my distance or reading specs.
