She must have been relatively young. How did she die?

ETA: Turns out she had breast cancer  :(

There was a wave some 15-20 years back when Jesus was the subject of considerable scrutiny and much was written about him during this period ....quite a lot of which was radical.

Some of it was scholarly and some of it was rubbish... and unfortunately Acharya (RIP) belonged to the latter category IMO.

Yes, I agree, Sriram.

Really... on Christmas day as well. God does have a sense of humour after all!!

I got banned from her truth be known forum because I disagreed with her views and her acolytes took offense to me rubbishing her opinions.. shame all the same, I did quite like her idea that the church was based on sun worship, what with all this east to west, facing the rising sun malarky that the church subscribes to.. and her book the greatest story ever sold was great to keep in the crapper!!

I made a note on the web about it being the Christians followers of Christ celebration day.
But as for keeping he book in the crapper... Tell me... "Did anyone ask you to bend over so they could read it when you told them"? :)

I had never heard of her and hadn't read any of her books which sound like the sort of thing I'd have read when I was young, thirsty and more impressionable.

Googled her and saw a picture of her;  she looked relatively young and quite attractive.  It's sad she died, obviously a talented woman and in maturity she may have gone on to write more books with a wider appeal.
RIP

Is this anecdote from personal experience?

Seems fairly straightforward to me, except for typo - something we all do!
"I made a note on the web about it being the Christian followers of Christ's celebration day".

I have read the Christ Conspiracy more than 10 years ago. She was claiming that many Jesus events and incidents were lifted from Krishna's legend.  I found many fundamental and blatant mistakes in this. She had lots of information wrong and it had all been hurriedly put together as though she wanted the book out before someone else got there.  Hardly a scholarly work.

Maybe her idea of tracing the Jesus myth (if it is a myth) to other ancient myths of India and Egypt was ok....but she should have done more homework.
