I’d just like to announce:
Today I am 80!
I realise of course that I'm still way behind LJ, and I know it’s not an unusual age to be these days, but, with sensible living and grateful acknowledgement to the NHS I’m thrilled to bits to have arrived here! I never thought I'd get this far!
It is, quite appropriately I feel, tap class this morning, so I can’t think of a better way to celebrate.
-
That's an advanced age even by today's standards....Susan. Congratulations! Make it a Century. All the best!
-
Happy Birthday :)
-
I'm just over ten years behind you and wondering which bit is going to stop working or fall off next!
Have a great birthday!
-
Happy birthday SD! :D
-
Happy Birthday, Susan - have a great day.
-
Thank you very much. I don't usually take any notice of birthdays, but this one I thought, well, it is a bit special! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Susan. Remember 80 is the new 60! :)

Congratulations Susan, have a great day.

The rest seem to have said it all, Susan, so I can't do much more than simply reiterate what has already been said.
HIPPY BIRFDAY ;)
-
Dear Susan,
Eighty!! eighty, I thought you were older :P so a birthday today then your star sign is Aquarius, Mystic Meg says, you will be in full admiration of someone with the colour blue in their name and try to avoid Jehovah witnesses as they will sorely vex you.
It's all true Susan, it is written in the stars.
Happy Birthday, you wonderful lady ;)
Gonnagle.

Just to add my best wishes to the preceding ones for this special day.
Hope you have a lovely time whatever you choose to do.
-
Well done, Susan. Your Tarot reading this morning indicates that a tall dark stranger will want his bill paying, but still, look on the bright side.
-
all the best Susan and happy birthday!
-
Many thanks for the good wishes. It was tap this morning - energetic and enjoyable as always - then at coffee afterwards, they'd organised a table for (most of) us plus a birthday cake! So that was lovely.:)
-
Well done Susan and many happy returns.
-
I'm pleased to add my congratulations too, Susan. I reached 3/4 of a century last week, and thought that was a bit of a milestone, but if I can do as well as you in 5 years time(assuming I'm still here) I'll be delighted.
Cheers. :)
-
Happy Birthday Susan and the same to Enki for last week
-
Warmest congratulations Susan - if I have half your energy and zest for life if and when I reach 80 I'll be very pleased indeed.
Here's a kiss on the cheek from me: x
-
Glad you're having a lovely one, lovely lady. :)
-

Belated best wishes, Susan! Haven't looked in for a few days so I missed it.
I think you and I must be the Darby and Joan of the forum! ;D

Thank you for posting. Yes, I'm hoping I'll have a few more years ... but it will be as a result of medical science and sensible living though! :D:D

But without the Christian God there would be no medical science and sensible living would be on your knees praying for a miracle.

WHY? Whether we live or Die, God is going to be there.
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
"My God shall supply all your needs." Christ showed us that it is NOT Gods will for man to be sick or suffer.
He wants everyone healthy. We all are born and all die. But God is always awake and always there.
No matter where a believer is, there is God.
This is for a birthday so let us leave this discussion for elsewhere.

I can't help feeling that's a 'joke' ... but in any case I know that Susan isn't daft enough to do any such thing. :)

:D You're right!
I'm looking forward to my day out at the Sisters of Bethany nunnery next week, when I shall be interested to hear what they have to say to my questions about the benefits, if any, of a religious monastic order! (Re a topic on SoF.)
-
I'm late for this party but belated birthday greetings anyway!

Thank you!
