A terrible loss. Such a wonderful talent as writer and performer.

I think that she was one of the few modern comedians whowas funny without being obscene.

Dinner Ladies is one of my all-time favourites!

May your path through the Summerlands give you as much pleasure as you have given to others.

We all mourn for the famous who touch us because they are a part of the fabric of our lives. I've cried with laughter at Victiria Wood; so have millions of others. And I spent Sunday evenings in my pjs and dressing gown watching The Two Ronnies with my parents and my grandmother, and I've lain in the dark marvelling at the power of a Bowie song, and millions of others understand that too. When we lose those who touch us like this we need to share it, because the loss is a collective one.

I think what I liked about her most was the value and respect she gave to ordinary people in her writing, in her songs, in her acting. Her talents were immense, and I both treasure what she produced, and feel sad that there is to be no more. My thoughts are focused on her family and friends at this time.

Death has no respect for age.
She will be greatly missed. So many comic lights gone out here.
Heaven must be burning brightly with so many arriving at once.
