Title: Reverse hair washing
Post by: Hope on May 28, 2016, 07:34:20 PM

Anyone practise this system of washing their hair?  Was reading about it in a copy of Prima in our local doctor's surgery.

Oh blimey, whatever next? I wash my hair in the usual way with shampoo each morning when I have my shower.

I tend not to spend too much time worrying about the best way to wash my hair - Life is too short (as is my hair)

I think this has to be the strangest thread I've ever seen.

Hope's asking if we condition before shampooing and he's linked to Cosmo.

This is one of those parallel universe things, isn't it?

The whole thing seems pointless to me.

Hair is a dead structure. Shampoo is merely a detergent or soap which unsticks any kind of dirt attached to hair and water washes the dirt away. Conditioner is an oily product which covers the hair surface and makes it look shiny. Neither shampoo nor conditioner affect the structure of hair - they can't because it is dead.

The only potential problems with either type of product relate to interaction with the skin from which the hair grows ...

I use stuff that changes the texture of my hair considerably.

I agree about skin problems. Some shampoos have horrendous chemicals in them.

Dear Harrowby,

You could get into a lot of trouble with that altitude :P the hair care market is worth billions :o anyway I hope that Hope's visit to the Doctor was not serious.

I tried bathing my head in whisky every morning for a week. I had been told that if you do this, the hairs come up to drink the whisky. At the end of the week, so I was told, you bathe your head twice, and the hairs get so drunk that you can tie them together before they shoot back in. This, I was assured, was an excellent cure for baldness. Unfortunately I had no success. I put it down to the fact that the hairs were just too quick for me, or they just didn't like whisky. I think I will now try the same again...but I will use vodka this time..

The bathing thing - you're doing it wrong.

You have to apply the whisky from the inside.

I've tried that, Shaker. I think that's how I became bald in the first place. :-[ ;)

Using whisky on the inside has wonderful anti aging properties. If I have enough of it I think I look ten years younger.

Unfortunately the next day I feel ten years older.  :-\

What Leicester? That's because it fell apart years ago and is now only surviving because of foreign investment from some bloke in Taiwan.

I assume that's a football reference, for some bizarre reason.

I don't understand that as I don't follow football. All I know is that Leicester won something and a Taiwan guy paid for it all...

You want logic and football? Then this is the wrong place mate. You need a totally different universe for that one...
