Title: The looming threat of protectionism

Very interesting program on the American shift towards protectionism:

Although not directly related to Brexit, the implications are clear - There is a fierce debate going on in America which could well end in America opting for a protectionist policy and the inevitable trade wars that would follow.

Anyone who believes that following a British exit from the EU the world would be a good place to establish new trade agreements, had better consider the very real possibility of a world with trade barriers well and truly up for all major trading blocks - not a good environment for a lone Little England.

I agree, although that should be lone little UK!

When you listen to that program, it would be quite worrying in normal times, but in the event of an OUT vote the future could be very bleak for us indeed.

Nope. I think that Scotland will probably vote to stay in and if England votes to leave and thus the leavers win the debate, there will be a new referendum on Scottish independence and this time the nationalists will win. Scotland will then join the EU. If Wales and Northern Ireland have any sense, they will follow Scotland's example.
