W T F - why do we insist on importing the worst of American fuckwittedness into this country?

Because of the ''Special Relationship" we cosy up and get into bed with the USA.
Anyway, over here it should be ''Lavatory ban'', not a bath in sight. Pah!
Very few demonstrators I see, thank goodness.

Tip of the iceberg possibly!

Lettuce aye?
Whatever next.
'Rest room' ban I suppose.
In America, dogs and cats go outside to use the rest room. I know that for a fact from watching Judge Judy.
I am in pre-bedtime trivial mood so I'll shut up now.
I'll shut up after this:
Bathroom Humor
A woman comes in for a routine check up at the Doctor's office .
"Here", says the nurse, handing her a urine specimen container.
"The bathroom is over there. The Doctor will see you in a few minutes."
A few minutes later the woman comes out of the bathroom with an empty container and a relieved look on her face.
"Thanks! But they had a toilet in there, so I didn't need this after all!"

Like it! Re-post this to the Joke thread!

How will you tell the difference?
For the sake of peace should we have a trans gender toilet?
Seems to me they get all worked up about nothing. Not like they will know who is using the bathroom. As we women do not pee in public view of one another I cannot see why they are complaining. Not like we have urinals is it?

I knew that, eventually, you and I would find something to agree upon - this appears to be it.
I cannot understand how they can enforce their "no trans in the ladies loo" unless they demand to inspect the genitals of every person entering.
And how do the differenciate between a post-op trans and a natural born female.
-
Owl: "....unless they demand to inspect the genitals of every person entering."
That's what some of them want to do, they will be called "Minge monitors" and wear a special badge.
"And how do they differentiate between a post-op trans and a natural born female."
Neat scars on which no foliage will grow.

I've said this before, but in a cafe local to me there's one set of toilets with two cubicles and two sinks that are mixed gender. The only person I've ever seen bothered was a young man who couldn't get his head round the fact I didn't mind him being there and who kept apologising.
It really is time we grew up a bit.
-
Too right!
How many women on here have used a mens' toilet rather than be stuck in a queue?
Some years ago I was at a motorway services and the queue for the loo was endless. There were some youngish chaps in the queue for the gents who had wives/girlfriends in our queue. The blokes went in and came out, had a brief conversation with their girls and then accompanied them into the gents!
A lady in front of me and I looked at eachother and then we too headed to the gents. We just went in the cubicles, came out and washed hands and went out. No hassle. It was a breakthrough!
I never could understand why lavatories are sexually segregated, even more so in this day and age. I suppose men wee on seats (& floor) if there aren't urinals - they might be less careless if they knew women were coming in behind them.
-
I suspect they wouldn't , and I don't totally feel comfortable at the idea of public toilets becoming mixed gender.
It depends where it is.
I don't have an issue with transgender people using whatever loo suits them.
They are only a small number of people, not 50% of the human population.
We don't need a special transgender toilet because we already have disabled toilets that are often mixed gender anyway.
It shouldn't even be an issue, IMO.
I don't fancy sharing a public toilet with a bunch of drunken lads, staggering about and throwing up.
It's bad enough when the drunk and weird man sits next to you on the bus and train and I would prefer not to find him in the loo as well.
Transgender isn't the problem, not really.
The problem is finding a bunch of loud mouthed drunken louts in the same public loo.
Sometimes at service stations you get a male cleaner and we accept him.
Mind you, in work the male cleaner is so terrified of women being in there he won't come in and even clean the sink, he runs away looking embarrassed.
Daft it is IMO.
The way he behaves anyone would think we women are dangerous!
It doesn't bother me, I'm in a cubical.
In pubs it depends on the toilets, if they are inside and a bit like home, it doesn't matter.
If it's outside, not keen.
Happy for transgender to use the same loos, happy for male cleaners to clean them, happy to share home type loos mixed gender.
Not happy with totally sharing public loos mixed gender.
Transgender not a problem as far as I'm concerned, might be different if it was open showers in a gym or changing rooms where you strip off after swimming.
I'm shy with other women anyway. ( hate showing my scars very self conscious)
But toilets not an issue with transgender.
I think we have the answer already, where it causes awkwardness use the disabled loo.
Where it could cause a problem and awkwardness, like showers and changing rooms perhaps we need to ask for individual cubicals so you can change in private.
Some pools already have them and both men and women and families use them.

If some daft women starts screaming...you know how much trouble the man can get into!!! They don't even have cameras in toilets!

I have been a fairly regular visitor to the annual 7 a side Rugby tournament at Twickenham. The queues for the ladies loos get horrendous and is quite common to see Ladies peeing standing up at the urinals in the Gents. It doesn't seem to bother anyone tough most are too drunk to see this as a sexually exiting thing.

There are pages on the internet which give instruction on this particular behaviour and there are devices on the market which facilitate the action.
I do country walks with friends and I'm sometimes puzzled by the unwillingness of my female companions to enable calls of nature to be more easily managed,
-
I'm intrigued by the devices HH!
Can't imagine a woman peeing standing up without making a mess. Out in the countryside it's done by lifting up any skirts and crouching.
Maybe the girls at Twickers were just as pissed as the men so they didn't care either :D.
-
It's s funnel thing with a tube on it that you carry around in your bag. They invented something similar for use in the car that didn't catch on either. i don't even think the tube thing would let you write your name in the snow or see how high you can pee up the wall - it'll just trickle.
Wild peeing is not advisable when wearing suede shoes or sandals.
-
;D

Shaker researches these things so that you don't have to: https://www.shewee.com/

Mrs B advises spreading the legs, and then leaning forward, easier to keep one's balance.

Just Google "How to pee standing up. There are pages and pageson the subject - even some videos on YouTube.

I've no wish to watch youtube videos of women peeing HH ;D but am intrigued by the 'she-pees' or whatever they're called, that Shaker linked to. I wonder if people walk around with the device in situ 'just in case' or if they stick it up their skirt when needed - or take off their trousers behind a bush.
I doubt I shall need one but I could buy one for a young person as a gift, I'm sure they'd appreciate it.
-
Yeah..... I really thought better of the British.....
http://edition.cnn.com/2016/06/16/football/euro2016-england-fans-video/index.html

A group of English fans in France for the Euro 2016 soccer championship have been caught on video taunting begging children in the street, apparently throwing coins at boys, forcing them to scramble and race each other for the pickings.
Hundreds of English fans gathered outside a bar in Lille, chanting loudly, waving English flags and throwing empty plastic beer cups on the floor, according to a CNN correspondent
"Absolutely ashamed to be English after watching the video of the English football fan ridiculing the little refugees children in France!"
CNN witnessed some approach children at another point, showing them money in their hands and then closing their fists to deny them.

I keep meaning to get one because I go to quite a few rally's and lots of women use them, mainly so they don't have to stagger across a field in the night, so they pee in the tent into a bottle, and dispose of it later, like the men.
It's a bit of a joke that nicking a bottle of ale or cider from a tent next door might mean you got more than you bargained for.
;D
-
I can well imagine.
There's a festival down the road to me tomorrow actually, I'll keep my eyes open for any odd shaped packages carried by women and girls (if I go).
Sririam, I saw that report last night before I went to bed, it's really shameful. When we were talking on the other thread about who is English, those were the sort of people I was thinking about that make me feel ashamed.

Which means wrong signals are being sent out that our little girls and boys can use the toilets whilst strange men look on.
Did that not come to mind. As an adult we can choose but our children should not be using toilets which allow women and men to look on as they pee.
When it comes to children we need same sex toilets. As a child I certainly would not want an audience of strange men and women looking on as I went to the loo.
It is okay to take our young children in the toilets with us but they need their privacy.
I am surprised that no one really thought about children using the toilets.

I don't think people will be looking on.
You will have privacy in a cubicle.

Interesting article
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-36429860
It goes into how transgender people feel about having to live a double life.
Also that who they are, doesn't just go away.

BeRational: I don't think people will be looking on.

I think so too and most parents are protective of their children anyway, they look after them when they go to public loos.

Morning Rose. That's a sad story, I really don't know what to say about it. I feel very sorry for Jane but the fact that she has stuck with her job in the armed forces for all these years shows that there is more to her than her gender and life can't be all bad.
I saw some of a programme on TV last week, late at night when sleep seemed a long way off, about how some men actually seek out a transgender woman (a man who has had some surgery towards being a woman), for a partner. I mean, as opposed to just looking for a girlfriend, or meeting and liking a woman who turns out to be transgender. They deliberately look for a transgender partner because of some sexual benefits they wouldn't otherwise have. I felt uncomfortable about that and thought that, were I a transgender woman (which I realise is not something I can properly imagine), I might feel a bit used. I suppose it takes all sorts.

Equally there are MTF transgender women who have surgery except for the genital re-sculpture who seek out female companions.
It takes all kinds - I can't remember who the quote is attributable to - and the "transgender world" includes a range of degrees of MTF and FTM transition from 'plain' transvestite/crossdresser to full surgical gender re-assignment.
Another denial that one-size-fits-all in anything just about.
-
Yes Owl, we don't all fit into the same box; same applies to issues other than sexual identity.
I can't help thinking: all that surgery and having to take hormones for the rest of your life, maybe forty or fifty years (& sometimes the surgery doesn't work or goes wrong dramatically), plus the sort of men or women who want to have a relationship, who may well be far removed from the type you dreamed of.

Instances of surgery that "doesn't work or goes wrong dramatically" are, these days, few and far between, unlike in the early days of Christine Jorgensen in 1952 or so, when it was in the 'pioneering' stage. I lost two friends to surgical accidents while I was living in Australia, and the surgical profession was one of the strongest forces in the fight to "get it right".
Equally just because you are transgender it does not mean that you have to accept any advances, any more than if your bits are still those that you were born with.
-
That's true, you can tell people to ''Piss off'' same as before you were transgender. However I can imagine difficult situations, where somebody behaves as though they really like you as a person and then......
That happens with heterosexuals often enough, I am sure transgender people bring even more of those out of the woodwork because they are so vulnerable.
Gender reassignment is a long process including pre-op counselling etc, and it needs to be, to be absolutely certain that the person is sure they want it to happen and know what they are getting into. The Charing Cross may well be good, ethical, etc, but I don't necessarily trust some of the doctors involved.
