Title: Wales v England at Euro 2016
Post by: Hope on June 16, 2016, 02:39:14 PM
I love this picture from the BBC website - (probably it'll disappear soon, though!!)  Looks as if Chris Smalling is about to tackle Gareth Bale rugby-style!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/35200594

Vardy and Sturridge on for Kane and that overpriced muppet Raheem Sterling. That could be brilliantly exciting.

Prior to the event, I forecast that England would draw all 3 group matches.  Could this be a second tournie in a row that England get knocked out in the group stage?

So what will the 'progression mark' be in terms of points?  It would be too ironic if Russia were to come good in the final game against Wales and jump up to 4 points.

The group remains wide open, with Russia being the nonly team who couldn't eventually top it.

Forecasts for the Russia - Wales and Slovakia - England matches?

The right result.

Overall a very one sided game - in some respects a good goal from Bale, but I think Hart would be very, very disappointed to have let it in. The intensity of play from England in the second half was excellent and they fully deserved their win, even if it was a bit squeaky bum time.

On the final round of matches, England to beat Slovakia and go through top, Wales and Russia a draw, but that will allow both Wales and Slovakia to go through. Russia out on footballing grounds before they got kicked out.

At last England are playing as well as their talent merits, and they can get better.   Good substitutions by Roy, as Kane and Sterling were looking shattered.  Sturridge brilliant, also Rooney very good in his new role, and Walker like dynamite, Alli very creative.

What a relief to see an England team thrown the shackles off.   This is a good team.

In England's case, 5 points guarantees progression. If we draw against Slovakia, Wales can overtake us to win the group.

Joke on Facebook:

A Scotsman walks into a bar. Normally he'd have an Englishman, an Irishman and a Welshman with him, but they're all watching Euro 2016.

Dear Jeremyp,

HA HA, HO HO, HE HE, laugh, I nearly did >:(

COME ON ICELAND COME ON ICELAND, and actually this Scotsman is thoroughly enjoying the football and I hope the Wigs is right, England are capable of doing better, and it is nice to see all the home nations doing well, COME ON NORTHERN IRELAND, can they pull off something magical against the Germans :o :o

I was listening to some coach from Northern Ireland yesterday on the radio, he stated that football has done wonders for healing the divide in Northern Ireland, a great reason to hope that Northern Ireland can go further ;)
