How does this tie in with German industry being keen on the UK.

Yes, exactly the kind of thing that Remain were warning of.
"Siemens has 13 plants in the UK and employs about 14,000 people."
It illustrates the need for some urgency in sorting out our relationship with the EU.

"The company's links with the UK go back 170 years. And Mr Maier, who campaigned for a Remain vote, insists that Britain is still a good place to do business.
"We are not going to run away from the British market. We are committed here. It's a great market," he told the BBC."

Siemens UK warns that Brexit vote could hit investment. I am warning that my trousers could show the crack of my arse when I bend over if I don't wear my belt.
Are we really going to have a new discussion opened every time there is a bit of speculation from an individual or a business.

There are quite a few companies in a similar position and as I pointed out, it does illustrate the need for some urgency. If we don't remove the uncertainty they will start to de-invest or relocate.
Tata Steel may well be the first casualty.

Getting it right matters as well so unfortuately it is a balancing act.

I'm not sure that pausing everything while the MPs have their Summer holidays is a good idea though.

just because Parliament goes into recess doesn't mean that any of the work on this would have to stop.

I would hope that they have at least left someone to answer the telephone, but nothing can really move forward until the leadership is decided and that could surely move ahead much quicker.

indeed but that isn't related to a recess. Govt and MPs don't just all take off for the recess. As for the leadership I agree it would be better quicker. I think the holding off till the party conference unnecessary but these things do take time no matter what.

Now that is serious, however there is an opportunity here to develop a bicycle rack............ if only we would take it.

But we don't have any leadership at present.
Cameron no longer has any authority to take any serious decision and until we have a new PM announced (not for another 2 months) we are in a power vacuum.
It is just possible (although I think highly unlikely) that were May to be streets ahead in the MP ballot that the others would pull out before it goes to members, meaning she could be PM next week and therefore government could start functioning again.
