Title: Glossary board
Post by: Free Willy on July 17, 2016, 10:39:46 AM
As a victim of yahoos and hobbledeehoys over what I mean by this and that would it not be better to have a glossary of terms board whereby if we have a pet phrase or leitmotif then we put down what we mean and others can add what they mean.

Is this meant seriously or can we put up light hearted definitions?

Dear Vlad,

Chunter, chuntering.

Quote
to mutter or grumble incessantly in a meaningless fashion

I am not fond of this definition, I prefer to liken it to a Train, a old steam train, watching or listening to a steam engine, the very fact of watching or listening, the thing has made its point, everyone enjoys the sight and sound.

You can admire a steam engine even when it is at rest, a steam engine makes a point a very real point, it says, this is what I am.

We all to a man ( or woman ) chunter on this forum, some are very eloquent chunterersers and some are very angry chunters, others, well! you need to dissect their chunters, search for what they are actually chuntering on about ;)

Here on this forum our chunters don't make much of a difference but tomorrow, in the House of Commons they will chunter on about Trident, and this will affect us all, which has me wondering, your average Brexiteer, how would they vote on scrapping Trident, Brexit is a step into the unknown, is scrapping Trident a step into the unknown.

Anyway, I enjoyed that little chunter, a chunter a day keeps the  hobbledeehoys away. :P
