Title: Would the world be a better place without politics and religion?

Very pleasant idea Owlswing but we would have to be very different people, ie not individuals each with our own ideas, needs, personalities etc.  Able to live alongside and work with eachother in complete harmony.  I celebrate individuality, am not a clone and wouldn't want others to be clones so I cannot imagine it.
From what I remember, the ideal of Anarchy is to eventually be a harmonious society without any 'walls'.  I am sure that is not achievable and sooner or later a hierarchy, and rules, would creep in, that's the nature of humankind unless the basic nature of humanity changed - then we wouldn't be us.

Be  a better place without man....

Oh! now you see the reality that it isn't politics or religion which is the problem but the Humans who created them. :)

Wow. Sassy admits that religion is a man-made construct. Man made God in his own image!

Nicely spotted HH, but what's the betting that she will be on here telling you that you are too ignorant to underrstand what she is saying because you are too ignorant of what the bible teaches!

Bit of a pointless question as far as I am concerned, or certainly one half is.

Sure I can see how you could have a world without religion. Whether or not it would be better is beside the point.

But I cannot see how you can have a world without politics given that all politics is is a was to make decisions and to enact them within a societal setting. And given that humans are social animals we will always need to way to decide how our society runs, and that's politics.

Frankly the only way you could exist without politics were if we all lived completely independent and non-interacting lives as individuals. But that isn't ever going to happen, so we are always going to need to have some form of politics.

Absolutely.

HH:  Religion is man made.  Faith isn't.  Religion is the structure people build around faith, which varies in Christianity according to the individual faith groups, ie the Orthodox churches have more Religion than Evangelical Free churches.

Just watching Channel 4s new series 'Eden' (missed the beginning of it), in which a disparate group of people are put in a remote place to start from scratch.  I note they have already started having 'meetings'.

I suppose you could read it that way but it was not what I said or meant.

Many religions and though God himself the true God not created by man.
All the political arguments and religious arguments outside the true God were.

I'm sorry to all here for the lack of detail in my "OP", which was posted in a moment to severe frustration.

The reason for the question was based upon the fact that, no matter what the religion or the poltical system, both are essentially divisive and offer no real methods of resolving those divisions, in fact, they seem to widen the divisions at every turn.

Case in point, if religions could resolve the differences that exist between the various religions and sects within those religions the world wouls be a far more peaceful place andf Sassy et al and I would be friends or at least more friendly!

But you are ignoring the fact that Sassy is as obsessively wedded to the idea that her religion is totally and uniquely correct and flawless as is the fanatic who blows himself or herself up in the name of ISIS. Just like the fanatic she arms herself with ambiguous doggerel - in her case scraped together millennia ago and bearing little relevance to conditions in the 21st century.

No, I'm not suggesting that Sassy would blow herself up. But she is committed to her cause and would consider compromise to be selling out. The real sadness here is that Sassy is a well meaning and honourable Christian - its just that she seems unable to distinguish between the very simple basic message of Christianity and the blousy verbiage of the Old Testament.

Exactly my point - she is, to my mind, the religous equivalent of Jeremy Corbyn or George Galloway!

George Galloway is well cuddly though, with sexy eyes.  Trust me, I know about these things.

Mr Corbyn, whom I admire him in many respects, reminds me of a teacher of British Constitution in a FE college, who also lectures once a week for the WEA.  Bless.

He reminds me of a kindly but ineffective deputy headmaster.
