That is very funny but, methinks, it was so conspicuous he must have wanted to be caught for some reason.  Like these people who go shoplifting for peaches in brandy from Harrods and walk about with them in their hand.  He looks like an anthropomorphic guitar case!

It isn't funny, the guy is a thief, I hope they catch him.

Was he not caught?  He was followed to the canal path where he abandoned the blind, we aren't told in that article what happened next but it's unlikely he was allowed to simply walk away.

The police are looking for information. I take it he somehow managed to deblind himself and then scarper unencumbered.

I imagine the staff following him were struggling to keep up because of laughing

If I shoved a fold up table down my front, would I look like an upright piano?

Maybe an old table with a couple of keys missing?

...... meanwhile the police are asking for help in locating a guide dog for the blind.

Points.

How do you make a Venetian blind? Poke him in the eyes!

He was followed by shop staff, not law enforcement officers. They probably didn't feel that it was safe to confront him.

He had been to the pub and was blind drunk. His theft was blindingly obvious. When he saw he was being followed he dropped his swag and ran off in a blind panic. Police have several leads but they are mostly blind alleys.

Is this a recorded crime?
