We have just learned that singer Bobby Vee has passed away. Bobby had a string of hits in the late 50's and 60's including "Devil or Angel", "Take Good Care of My Baby" and more.
Bobby got his big break when he replaced Buddy Holly on the "Winter Dance Party" tour after the plane crash that took Buddy's life. Bobby also gave a young Bob Dylan one of his first jobs.
Bobby was 73 years old.

I had a mate of mine at college who liked Bobby Vee. Almost everybody else was into punk, or disco, but he liked Bobby Vee. Took even more courage to admit that, than to admit that one did not like reggae (which gave rise to allegations of racism) and preferred Abba (gave rise to allegations of wallyism).
