His real name was Sir Leslie Ronald "Jimmy" Young CBE.

Fond memories of his morning programme, and remember basing a play that I was involved in writing, for a school drama competition, on a combination of his regular cookery slot and the Witches' scene from Macbeth!!

Leslie, but known as 'Jimmy' I assumed James was a real name never knew it was just his stage name so to speak.
But a lot of stars changed their names didn't they. :) We would have asked who if they had printed his real name...
