Title: Super moon tonight
Post by: Bubbles on November 14, 2016, 07:52:48 AM
Apparently the moon is the closest it's been to the earth since 1948 and is bigger and brighter than normal.

Thanks for reminding, Rose.  Sprocket mentioned this and we were all going to make a diary date  - but must admit by today I'd forgotten and, unless I heard anything about it on the news today, it would have passed me by.
I'm quite looking forward to seeing it.

As it is supposed to be cloudy all day, we aren't likely to see the moon.

Ssssssssh! Maybe someone's nicked it....or landed on it.....which, according to CERTAIN people, might be equally unlikely...... (Just saying......)

I believe some Vegans recently landed on it but couldn't cope with all that cheese.

Are they people from Vegas, Anchor?  A 'big moon' would not be a jackpot for them.

Floo:  As it is supposed to be cloudy all day, we aren't likely to see the moon.

;D  In some respects you are a gal after my own heart - glass half empty.
I'm trying to be positive about this, for a change,  and am hopeful of seeing it.  It's raining here, who knows how it will be tonight?  Bugger the forecast!

Edit:  forecast for my area, only partly cloudy later so I live in hope.

I saw the moon very clearly, but it didn't seem any different in size to any other full moon. Very disappointing!

Apparently it looked really huge and magnificent somewhere in Somerset, so I saw on the news.
Nothing here, selfish moon, showing favouritism.  Bah!

There's going to be another one some time in December, I won't bother putting the date in my diary.

I thought the next super moon wasn't due until 2034?
