ALL medications should only be taken under strict medical supervision, imo.

It does sound good but needs to be supervised.  Each person will react differently.  That happens with the more readily prescribed mind-altering drugs, some of which have really horrible effects on many people while others feel better (& they aren't particularly monitored, most are just given a prescription and told to come back in a month/three months), so substance such as that described in the link needs a bit more care.  Also more controlled research.

However, if there is a strong possibility that it helps, it's certainly worth a try.
