The author of Watership Down and plague dogs has died (Though I thought Shardik his best work) https://www.theguardian.com/books/2016/dec/27/watership-down-author-richard-adams-dies-aged-96

I was very interested to learn Richard Adams made up 'Watership Down' on long car trips with his children, to stop them being bored.  That's a lovely memory for his children and grandchildren.
