Title: Pollution limits
Post by: Nearly Sane on January 06, 2017, 12:44:36 PM
There are some who worry that there has not been a commitment to adopting EU pollution limits after Brexit but given that the annual limit has been breached in Brixton (or should that be Brexton) after 5 days, do they gave any teak effect?

Smogs will be common again soon if the, "there is no such thing as global warming", brigade have their way. Trump I believe is going to rescind America's weak attempts to limit the damage their polluting industries create.

And yet if we have annual limits that are breached in 5 days, it's a pretty useless piece of window dressing. In essence this isn't a discussion about climate change but the politics of climate change.

Yesterday we had the depressing Canadian findings on increased dementia risk for people living near main highways and celebration at the highest annual UK cars sales records.

Out of interest, what proportion of those new purchases were either hybrid or purely electric?  How many diesel?  Have those proportions changed over the last few years?
