For my 60th my youngest daughter presented me with a certificate (in a natty tin box) that informed me I had my very own star: arrangements to inspect my acquisition weren't specified, sadly.

It came with a bottle of decent malt (with my name on the label too), which compensated for the absence of interstellar travel opportunities.

When the ex's father died his wife had him cremated and refused to erect a memorial stone anywhere. I 'bought' a star in the Plough in my father-in-law's memory so the ex could go outside and 'talk' to him as he would have at his grave.
