I was pleased to see the Imps win yesterday in possibly the story of the season, but this is class from Burnley.

This is rather lovely too, not least because it is about my team

I spoke to a completely disinterested friend of mine last night about the Lincoln match - he is Lincolnshire born and bred so even though I know football isn't his thing I thought he'd have a passing interest, but no. All I got was, "I don't live in Lincoln'. Well, I knew that.

I can understand the disinterest if you start from not really being bothered about football, it must be easy to see the whole thing as corrupt, and as the article covers monetised.

I think that for some men a dislike of football is formed at school by the attitude of those who 'love' the game. Team sport bollocks.
But it's also about a sense of place, as the earlier article said. IIRC even Shaker became briefly interested thanks to Leicester's epic win last year, although my guess is he'll be disinterested again given how this season is going. I don't live in Cambridgeshire but I have enough ties to it to watch Cambridge's cup run with interest and keep an eye on their score. I kind of expected my friend to be a bit 'oh wow, that's good,' not 'no, I really don't give a shit'.
