Title: Buffy the Vampire Slayer...
Post by: Nearly Sane on March 10, 2017, 05:38:52 PM
Appeared 20 years ago today. A show that initially I thought had the single dumbest selling point ever but I happened to watch one and was amazed at the dense contextual referencing,  the clever use of language, and only a bit by the pulchritudinousness. This was my ironic like as an older but it is one of the all time great TV shows.

Grr Argh

Ooh, the guy from Bones was in it.

I refused to watch it on the basis that my mother was into it. That and my gnat-like attention span.

Indeed this was Mr Boreanaz's big break.  The writing is as good as The West Wing but with more realism. It's funnier than South Park, and more inventive in the language. It has three or four of the best episodes of TV  ever. It rescued a friend from the depths of depression. That said the first series is iffy and all a bit monster of the week, it should have finished at the end of the fifth series but it is fundamentally magnificent

In case the question is asked, my favourite is either Restless, or Some Kind if Blue, Or Once More With Feeling or......
