Uri Gellar is a conjuror who pretends to have psychic powers. You really can't believe anything he says.

Wait a minute. Have he CIA confirmed his story? If a known liar says the CIA came to him for help without any substantiating evidence, is there any reason to believe he is not lying about that as well?

In the 70's apparently mind control was all the rage, lots of security services in the USA and USSR  investigated it.

They seemed  to come to the conclusion, finally  it was nonsense.

Not really surprising they wanted to test Uri Geller with all the publicity he was getting.

The paper Squeaky Voice was referencing seems to suggest there was something to Gellar['s powers. Of course, we do not know if the conditions were as tight as the paper describes. I suspect they weren't really equipped to deal with cheating.
