I don't share your confidence that whoever replaces them wouldn't do exactly the same thing. Unless whoever it was reversed Brexit and that ain't going to be Corbyn.

Brexit is a disaster of tory devising. It is now a question of how the UK is going to look. A low tax, low welfare, low wage economy with Jam the day after tomorrow? The first ever carved out of a wealthy society? or something else.
There was a point where British society realised that the workforce was not expendable because in a capitalist society you need people to buy things and the same will come about with the realisation that low waged people cannot spend.
If there are a minority of rich then society as a whole becomes de facto socialist since it becomes non capitalist.

What really annoys me is that I had noticed in my middle age that when I went abroad, the natives actually seemed to like the English, now as a result of the Brexit vote everybody seems to think that we are a bunch of clunks again.
