Title: Breast Ironing

I was aware of forced marriage and of female genital mutilation but confess that "breast ironing" is new to me.

I am saddened and revolted by this. I believe that Britain's cosmopolitan cultural diversity adds to our national richness - but it should be accountable to our established liberal values.

If this article is correct, then the same amounts to an assault and/or ABH, although I would prefer that social workers got involved before plod.

That's horrible!

A young girl who is developing can be tender enough.

Yes they can! I'd never heard of the practice of breast ironing before but have heard of mothers trying to obscure obvious signs of maturity or puberty in daughters so they are not pushed into early marriage, only applies to the minority who go in for child marriage. They can't hide it forever but they try to keep daughters as children for long as possible in the hope that another avenue will open up for their child.
