I think this is the legally correct decision.

I agree, technically it is. Morally, however...

Indeed, but that isn't the choice. I have to hope that the Tories plan to screw the GFA might have some blowback on issues like this.

I think it morally wrong to kill the unborn.

I have no problem with abortion as long as it is done well before the foetus is viable.

Same here.
Nothing to stop a NI resident coming here and saying they live here, if they have friend whose address theycan borrow. No-one is going to check.
On the other hand many can afford to pay.
I agree with NS that it is the right decision, legally.

Obviously is better to practise safe sex and avoid an unwanted pregnancy. But of course even if you do, occasionally things can go wrong if the condom fails, for instance.

One case that I read of was of a woman whose child was diagnosed with a condition that meant she'd die soon after birth. In England she could have had a termination and be left to grieve and recover. In NI she had to wait another fifteen weeks before labour started naturally and during that time she had to deal with all the usual comments that expectant mothers get - aren't you blooming, is it a boy or a girl etc. Eventually she did give birth and the child died shortly after. I do wonder how much more suffering is caused by letting the foetus grow larger in such circumstances.
That doesn't protect the unborn child. It just tortures the mother.

I agree.
