The proximate cause, as ever with any kind of bigotry, is of course sheer stupidity. And fear of difference, of the other, obviously.
The ultimate cause - well, a great many people would like to know that. Poorly disguised anti-Semitism hiding behind concern-trolling criticism supposedly of "Israel, but not Jews" is certainly one factor amongst many in my view. A drip-drip effect of anti-Semitic propaganda such as you can find on forums such as this one is another.

So, no criticism of Israel in fear of being labelled anti-semitic. That really does give the IDF a free hand.
-
Israel should be criticised when its actions are wrong, but it is wrong to blame all Jews for Israel's bad behaviour.

I've never known you to criticise Israel's actions politically, as a state; your anti-Semitism (along with that of Sweet Pea, the forum's other resident anti-Semite) has always been far too open and undisguised for that.

If Jewish people are sending funds to support illegal settlements they could feel intimidated when criticised or abused for it. But it would be wrong to generalise about all Jews. Many Jews are highly critical of The IDF.-
-
Many orthodox Jews do not even support zionism.

The Zionists were a terrorist group back in the day.

I think you might mean Haganah or Irgun?

Never heard of them?

??.... smh. You, Shaker cannot tell a Jew from a Zionist. I am not anti-Jew. The Jews of the Torah understand my position.

Actually, the original Zionists - the word was coined in the nineteenth century - were no such thing.

You're right there Anchorman.

Anti-semitism (anti-Jewish) has never gone away & it's no surprise to me to read that it has risen in recent years. Any Jew will tell you of subtle, carefully worded sentences and prejudicial attitudes from many non-Jews. I've seen & heard it, you don't have to be especially tuned in to notice.
It's a terrible shame and I will never understand it.
All we can do when we come across such prejudice is address & try to counter it. Jews are no threat to any of us (even Rothschilds ::),so why are some afraid (prejudice is fear & ignorance)?
