I don't think her crazy claims are any worse than those of Christian faith healers, like the infamous Benny Hinn.

OK - my only contribution to this thread -
There is no such thing as Black Magic.
Magic is - as any REAL witch will tell you - If you cannot curse you cannot cure.
The spell for a cure and the spell for a curse are exactly the same spell it is only in its intent that it differs.
Witchcraft has nothing to do with Satan/The Devil unless, of course, you are a pig ignorant Christian who is, as far as witches are concerned, are still living in the 14th to 17th centuries and they spit their bile and ignorance at any who disagree.
This group are American and they still mix up withcraft with devil worship and the Craft on their side of the Oggin bears no resemblance to that in the UK and Europe.
American witches who have attended gatherings in the U K have usually got very short shrift and cleared off PDQ.

All very interesting, but there is, of course, zero evidence to suggest your attitude to these people has any justification in reality. There ideas on witchcraft have the same amount of evidence as your do.

Burt's teapot suggestion would also apply to your assertions on this subject Owl.
I think, as far as it's possible to know for certain, I live quite a normal life and in the process at times it appears to me, there are a lot of us, humans, around that hold some very funny, funny peculiar ideas, I just hope and would like to think my thoughts and ideas are not on a slant towards that peculiar, as I see it, line of thought.
Black, white or pink witches, come on!

On the Religion and Ethics Topic - nothing whatsoever!
Witchcraft is NOT a RELIGION!
Witches who have a religious belief are, 99% of them anyway, Pagan and a lot of witches are atheist.
Thus, if you wish me to discuss witchcraft with you, I will do it on the Pagan Topic.

How about starting a Tea Pot Topic, makes equally as much sense as having a pagan one.

I don't know about FFHO, I wouldn't think it's a very complimentary comment, all google would give me was foundation for home ownership?
Please tell me how the evidence needed to establish that witches really exist differs from evidence that proves Burt's Tea Pot really does exist?

How about getting a bit more realistic about these topics and start a 'Star Trek' topic?

You don't like it?
Tough! I have told you what to do if you want to discuss the matter; if you are not prepared to do as I suggest you can do the other thing.
It is no skin off my nose to leave you to wallow in your arrogance and blissful ignorance!
You are not a witch, never have been, and likely never will be so your knowledge of what you are talking about is a large minus quantity!

Sorry NS. :-[
Getting back to the idea of witchcraft, sadly in the past people thought to be witches were killed. I suspect they were just women who stood out from the crowd and were a little unusual in some way or other. I have mentioned before the last witches in my home island were supposedly burnt to death in one of the fields belonging to our family property! :o
I am glad I wasn't around in those days, my kids tell me I am a one off, that reminds me my broomstick needs servicing! ;D

What, please, is the precise geographical location of the field mentioned?

My father sold the property in 1984 after it had been in the family for many centuries, so it would not be fair to qive its location.

Seemingly the last 'witch' burned on the island?

It's OK Floo - the "many centuries" was all I needed, however if it was in England rather than Scotland being burned as witch would be unlikely as that was the Catholic punishment for heresy , in England the charge was using maleficium which usually attracted the stocks or hanging.

Guernsey did a bit of burning.

I had no idea of that. I was just told as a child that the last witch had been burnt to death in that particular field. Whether that was factual I have no idea. I grew up with a lot of remarkable stories surrounding my family home, but how many of them were the absolute truth is open to question.
