There is a story on the BBC website about the 'next Messi'. And the boy may well be. But football is fickle and I was reminded of watching the England Scotlabd Schoolboys match in 1980 where an excellent Scottish side with some who went on to great success, notably John Robertson and Paul McStay edged the game 5-4, against a superb hat trick from Paul Rideout. And while Rideout had some success, he never quite reached the heights that performance promised.
