Title: Joe Joyce against Ian Lewison
Post by: Humph Warden Bennett on October 21, 2017, 05:39:26 PM
Ian lost, he caught a bad hit to his right eye.

Maybe his last fight. What I did notice was that a fight between two mixed race fighters, was commentated by two mixed race commentators.

Good? or Bad?

Is what good or bad?

Apologies, it was not my best post.

What I meant was is it a good thing to have black commentators for a fight between two black boxers, white commentators for a fight between two white boxers, and mixed race commentators for a mixed race fight? Does it make it more authentic, or is it discrimination?

Surely the only requirement for any commentator is to be sufficiently knowledgeable in the sport at hand to be able to offer insightful commentary and not random noise. The idea of bringing colour into it at any point is bizarre.

The payroll for the broadcasters would go up a bit if that idea was brought to fruition.
I agree with Shaker.
