And so base rate increased by 100%  ;)
The growth rate though at 1.5% is not cheering

I can remember when interest rates went up to 17%, which was a bit eye watering as we had a substantial mortgage in those days.

Indeed.

This increase doesn't exactly motivate me to move my modest savings.
