I think the sculptor was making a point. The revised version is going to be a boy with his hand thrust into a bag of sweets

I couldn't see anything wrong with the statue at first - then I read the comments and the penny dropped.
Pity it has received so much publicity, sounds like it is being altered to suit everybody concerned.
