I haven't heard of Wolff in years, I must admit I was surprised he has only just died.

sad news ,it was he who inspired me to study physics at school
Loved watching him on the telly 😥

Me too - he always seemed a lot older than he clearly actually was.

Wot's left of my memory recalls him helping inspire the Beeb's "Young scientists of the year" - or a programme with a similar title.

im proud to say , sir George Porter was an old boy of my school and came from the same mining village as me a few streets away 👍

Really  ;D? He's wasn't English anyway so he probably thought 89 was a good age. Blimey, it would be old enough for me!

I just checked and he was well over the average life expectancy for a male in Australia or the UK!  Unless you are talking about cricket.......
