Ovid can come home whenever he wants to.

And the point of this thread is?
-
Possibly to highlight the pointlessness of measures taken against things centuries or even millennia in the past (apologising for slavery, etc.).

Absolutely, extra mulled wine for Shaker :)
(FTR Constanza in my experience is a rather nice city, with decent roads & attractive buildings, I do advise swerving the Gypsy quarter though).

Why?

Why?
Because it is dangerous.

It's like West Kingsdown, only with more exotic architecture.

It's those castanets, they're deadly!

I thought West Kingsdown was somewhere near Deal/Dover, floo but I was getting it mixed up with 'Kingsdown'.
On googling, I see it is a district of Sevenoaks and has a high crime rate, a sort of no go area. I've not been there but Sevenoaks is very pleasant, I used to have rellies there back in the day, but everywhere has its grotty bits so presume West Kingsdown is one of those. A place to avoid!
Ovid was banished to, and died in, somewhere comparable to West Kingsdown (worse, quite beyond the pale in fact though presumably warmer), and that is now seen as a great injustice which should be rectified. Too late for the poet unfortunately.

West Kingsdown is far from grotty, there are many huge houses with enormous gardens behind security gates.
Just don't ask anybody how they made their money.
Now do you understand, Floo?

Not really, what has that to do with gypsies?

Somebody tell her. Please.

I modified my previous post before I saw this, Humph.
So is it a place where gangsters live after moving out from London? When I googled from what I read it seemed there is a lot of crime but maybe 'West Kingsdown' is an area with both pleasant and grotty bits.
Floo, there is at least one traveller site in Sevenoaks area. One of those places the council are always trying to close with the locals getting up in arms about it.

The Irish Travellers living in caravans on the outskirts of Sevenoaks have little in common with the wealthy Zigani villains living in huge ornate palace style houses!
You would have to be very bluddy silly indeed to burgle a house in West Kingsdown, you could only hope that plod found you before your victims did.
-
Fascinating, Humph.
I never knew there was such colourful diversity within a few miles of Bromley :D. Very exotic, a younger me would have wanted to explore.
The exiled Ovid still wrote quite a lot but he desperately wanted to return to Rome and his wife.
It's sad, everything comes too late.

Indeed, I'd never leave Sew-Krates out.
