Reading Stuart Cosgrove's excellent book on Detroit in 1967, I found the story of The Dramatics, a band I knew if from Northern Soul compilations fascinating. I knew of the riots in 1967 but only in a superficial fashion and some of the detail is shocking including the Algiers Motel deaths which involved members of the Dramatics
