Don''t want riff raff near Royalty!
-
Unpleasant stuff: I say leave the beggars and move the wedding to some private setting so that the rest of us won't be disturbed by the noxious parade of fellow monarchic-parasites and assorted hangers-on.
-
It is just one man, a councillor, who has suggested this and it seems he is being roundly condemned for saying it! Quite right too.
I'd have thought the beggars would be in the town, near shops and restaurants, not the castle.
I doubt anything will change because of what he said.

He"s the leader of the council. So resign to show it isn't what the council support?
-
I wonder if he will, might not go unless he's pushed and that depends on what the rest of the council think of his remark.
-
I'm not going to get involved in whether someone made an ill-informed remark, but on Radio 4 yesterday (PM I think) a few of the people living on the street were interviewed. There was something of the'I didn't like the place they offered me' in their responses and I have to say that there could be another side to the arguments.
-
Is it of interest, I wonder, that the councillor concerned, Simon Dudley, actually represents a Maidenhead rather than a Windsor ward on the council?
And I suppose he will be good mates with Maidenhead's MP, one Theresa May ...

The castle is right in the middle of the town near the shops and restaurants.

Thanks jeremy, I'm not particularly familiar with the area (obviously). Not sure I've been to see the Castle, even as a child.
Theresa May has slammed what Simon Dudley said.
