Title: Winnie Mandela - hero or zero
Post by: Nearly Sane on April 03, 2018, 05:26:29 PM

On her death Owen Jones posted a tweet saying that you shouldn't expect people fighting Apartheid to sit around singing Kumbaya, not sure that that exactly covers Stompie Moeketsi's murder.

I thought that too but quite honestly Winnie was never the same after being tortured in that dreadful prison. Before that she was alright. Being idolised as 'Mother Africa' didn't help much because no-one could live up to that, everyone has feet of clay.

From what I've read most people forgave Winnie Mandela for her wrongdoings.

Not sure that feet of clay quite covers being involved in the murder and torture of a 14 year old.
