I’m not crying, it’s hay fever.

Heartwarming.

It'd be interesting to hear Alan Burns view on this thread, the poor old dogs, by his standards, likely haven't got one of his souls and I guess that'll just be for starters.

Does Alan adhere to the doctrine that animals other than human don't have souls? I've heard other people say that over the years but opinion is divided.

Yes he does.
-
He can't be certain though.
If the subject comes up with Alan, he could be shown this:-
http://www.bible.ca/su-do-animals-have-souls-spirit-will-spot-be-in-heaven.htm
Isaiah says God will include animals in the new heavens and a new earth:-
"The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the serpent’s food." (Isaiah 65: 25, NIV)

LR raised on the SfG thread yesterday - I'd suggest that the discussion of what Alan thinks as regards souls fits better there.

Here we can just agree that we don't deserve dogs.

Thank you very much NS. That really is a coincidence! I don't want to get involved on the SfG thread but LR or someone else might look on here and decide to copy it.

It would, I suggest, be a derail for this, rather than on SfG where Alan has posted on this frequently in the past.
-
I agree, it's not my intention to mention it again. I'll wait and see if Alan makes a response to LR's post on SfG & maybe post it there unless anyone else wants to.
That gorgeous dog has the most sweet face. I'd take him home with me any day.

On the other hand... (https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/the-dogs-baby-chilling-cry-13002516) And don't give me any bullshit about it being the owner's fault. Dogs can be pretty vicious, as well as helpful and brave - bit like humans, really.

That's the point really.
