No, LR not taking anticholinergic drugs nor do I know anyone who is on them (yet) but, from reading the article, the risk seems minimal & if someone does develop dementia whilst on the drug there are probably other contributory factors. Whatever medication is prescribed there is always the possibility of side effects.

If you & husband are really concerned go to your doctor and discuss it, even better if he is under the care of a hospital department. You may get some reassurance from that.

I think this is an important point:

Rob Howard, professor of old age psychiatry at University College London, said: "It is possible that use of some of these drugs may have actually been to treat the very earliest symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, which can be associated with low mood and lower urinary tract infections, many years before the development of dementia."
