Our eldest daughter, a vicar, is also a very keen Guider. I asked she what she was doing with the her group of Guides this evening, she said they were having a water splash for the UK charity, Water Aid. If they manage to raise £100+ the Guides get to pour a large bucket of ice cold water over her. Well naturally her father and I thought it would be most remiss if she missed out on that 'delight', so ensured it would happen. ;D

Am I the only one seeing the irony here?

If you are talking about the hot weather, we don't have a hosepise ban here yet. I have no doubt they will endeavour not to use too much of it.

I didn't assume there was a hose pipe ban there or they they'd be used - clearly they are though, but however the water will be 'splashed' is irrelevant when there's a threat of drought.
And for Water Aid...

I don't think one bucket of water will make a significant difference.

A water splash isn't the same thing as the ice bucket challenge.
There's also the issue of my one bucket being ok turning into lots of people with their one buckets. I guess my neighbour thinks his one sprinkler doesn't make any difference either.

In light of the hot weather three buckets of water were used, and ended up on a surface, which was glad of it.

That’s good. :)
