Title: Talking Pictures TV
Post by: Nearly Sane on July 18, 2018, 02:06:01 PM
Just been chatting about this channel with Gordon. Hugely interesting stuff. As Gordon has just pointed out to me Yield To The Night is on later today. Well worth watching

Yes, we watch it a lot.   Some quite obscure stuff on from the 50s, which I find fascinating.  Also many old classics.   And Laurel and Hardy.

I record a lot of stuff on this channel: the 50s police stuff is my favourite, both US and UK, where there are old TV shows (Edgar Wallace is currently running) and films: 'Panic in the Streets' was on this afternoon. I love the trilby hats and big coats with belts, and the old style police cars.

Found this channel last night after reading this thread and watched "A Family at War" which brought back some memories. It was one of my mothers favourites in the 70's and I remember watching it with her. Which made it a little poignant for me.
