Title: Five books on Aristotle
Post by: Nearly Sane on August 13, 2018, 03:59:27 PM
Interesting article in the 5 Books series, Aristotle is such a wide-ranging thinker that he is sometimes too burdened with 'The Father of ....' titles to be seen clearly.

Read his "Poetics" some years ago. He constantly gives references to various plays which were extant in his day, but have been lost for centuries, which is a bit frustrating. His literary theories are still influential, though. Will get round to reading some of his other stuff some day.

Read some Aristole. Tried the Metaphysics once but to be honest I didn't understand much of it.
