I went to an exhibition on Holmes a couple of years ago in the Museum of London which combined the mapping with lots of paintings of the period as well,  Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wish I'd known about that - I might have gone. I've been to the MoL once, about 30 years ago. It's probably changed a lot since then.

Definitely worth going back if you haven't been in that time. Combine it with a visit to the Guildhall, and a look at the Roman Amphitheatre there
