Field wrote a piece for the Telegraph about "How Brexit is a new opportunity for Britain", like some Ukip nutter dreaming of a new empire in Antarctica, or on the Moon.

I don't agree. Since that would be buying into the Conservative narrative which paradoxically led to the party being in opposition.
The real performance piece was Scottish nationalism....a project which failed in it's own terms and with the defeatism of Blairite labour let the tories and a decidedly English agenda prosper.
