Title: Thomas the Tank Engine

TBH this strikes me as being more of a marketing strategy than being anything else. In my experience Thomas & Friends are pre school favourites, neither of my kids wanted to be associated with Thomas once they had started school.

Yes - I think this is about global branding. I suspect Thomas has up to know been largely a UK thing, albeit with the ill-advised Americanisation of the truly horrendous 2000 Thomas movie - Thomas and the Magic Railroad, starring Peter Fonda and Alec Baldwin no less!
