The Tory Conference Standing Orders Committee "bury" anything embarrassing (i.e interesting), so delegates have little to do other than get drunk.

Then screwing up GDPR is a very foolish distraction as they have just opened themselves up to a large, very large fine.

I’m hearing that the fine could be 9 million. Could that bankrupt them?

The Tory Party cannot be bankrupted.

Nobody has the accounts.

There's an element to the whole narrative about the Tories and how do so successful that were/are that reminds me of this

The Tories are currently a farce in part held up by people going but I read somewhere about how efficient they are, so it means I can ignore that times have changed and they are a disaster are only surviving by others saying our party is much much worse.

A link to what?

Just unusual to see many posts without a link to something or other from the Guardian, worrying.

I don't understand this. What is wrong with the BBC link?

eta make that links, when you include the BBC Twitter account linked to here.

He's just indulging in his usual inane Guardian bashing. Like other people who support the mess that is Brexit that  particular newspaper gets up their collective noses. Let's hope they continue to irritate him for a long time to come, he clearly derives much pleasure from posting snide irrelevant comments.

It's just that there seems to be a preponderance of Guardian links for most of the time on this forum and there's a lack of them showing up in the posts on this particular thread.

We are, by and large, inrelligent, questioning, well-educated peeps on this forum, so probably quite a lot of us read the 'Garudnia'.

Fucking hell (that's especially for Ippy) are you on the same forum as me?  ;)  (Love how posting trips people up "inrelligent"!)

The Graun is the only news outlet that doesn't make me lose the will to live, even if I do think a lot of its contributors live in a parallel universe. Plus I won't swell the Mail's coffers by clicking on it if I can possibly help it.

I didn't realise Ippy was anti Graun, weird for someone whose views sit left of centre.

Rhi, I only buy a newspaper on a Saturday, I have the Telegraph, hang on, I only buy this paper because it's the only one that doesn't annoy me I particularly like its first offence for stealing 50p, 5 years hard labour and then second offence theft of one pound the death sentence approach, not because I agree with this lot it's more likely to make me smile with its extreme lack of feeling and callous attitude towards its fellow man approach to almost any social subject, most of the other papers annoy me and make me feel bad tempered, I don't want to spend my time feeling bad tempered.

If I was to enter a discussion about the other papers they make me feel bad tempered so I'm not discussing anything to do with them for that reason.

Regards ippy.
