The vandals who desecrated this war memorial are mindless scum, who deserve to have been sent to a WW1 battlefield. >:(

Yep - I liked them too. Used to be a regular occurrence in Market Square in Nottingham until they removed the fountains. :(

Actually, I know a case in which some were.
The Sherrif was creative. He sentenced a pair of vandals up here to raise money - legally - and go to the military graveyards in France and Belgium - on a recognised tour, and come back with reasons why they should not be charged.
They came back, ashamed, with no such reasons.
The sherrif afmonished them.
Changed minds.
