This morning I was watching an interesting item about human microchipping, which can be done in the UK. The microchip, the size of a grain of rice, is placed between the finger and thumb. Owners of dogs and cats are encouraged to have them microchipped, so should humans be done too?
What do others think?

Mark of the beast!!!!

Just no. Its bad enough that mobile phones can be used to track your every movement, bowel or otherwise, why let the spying swines have any more insight into your life.
And I know what you are going to say what if Madeleine McCann was microchipped or other similar instances, I still say no. Enough of the monitoring already...it sounds a good idea if you have a reasonable government in power. Unfortunately not all govenrments are reasonable.

I'm for it: furthermore I think that these chips should be able to monitor behaviour 24/7/365 (or 366 now and again) and have the capacity to administer small electric shocks as a deterrent in cases of problematic behaviour.
For example, just this morning whilst in Tesco, I was behind a chap who was pushing his trolley far too slowly and, by way of escalation, he then stopped to chat to someone and in doing so blocked easy access to the toothpaste - a quick 'zap' from his implant would surely have moved him in the direction of the shampoo and conditioner.
You know it makes sense!!!

because you're worth it .

If microchipping helps to find a missing person that is a plus, but I wonder if the downside of the process out weighs the good? I wouldn't be surprised if in years to come a baby will be microchipped at birth, by law.

No no no!
Why do you say that?

Why do you say that?
We're monitored too much as it is.

No thanks.

No.

I think I will get a microchipping kit and microchip my husband, so I know where he is when he goes out for his route marches. ;D

I'm pretty sure that my mobile phone doesn't monitor my bowel movements.

If Madeleine McCann had been microchipped, it could have been circumvented in the near term with aluminium foil and long term with a Stanley knife.

That's what they want you to think.
-
I have a basic mobile phone, which is rarely switched on, and cannot monitor anything.

Why have a mobile phone and then switch it off most the time? Kind of defeats the purpose of having a mobile phone.

I no wish to be in communication with people 24/7. I have one in case of an emergency when I am driving.

Someone above said, "Mark of the beast". I agree.
Good to see you back Walter.

I know people who really think this microchip thing is a sign the second coming is near. And someone else who wondered if the airliner that disappeared a few years ago somehow got into space. But then, I've had many wild notions myself.

What on earth would microchipping have to do with the mythical second coming?

Because of the magical Book of Revelation

WOW, of course it is the mark of the beast! ;D ;D ;D
-
Even the internet was supposed to be the sign of the beast. WWW is 666 in numerology!
-
The book of Revelation is used by more extreme Christians to support their end time scenarios.
-
End times seems to be actually nearing...at least for many people and many species...!

What? W is a letter, 6 is a number. Who decided "W" represents a 6?
